Adding a multimap to your site

We have previously written a guide to add a Google Map to your church website. Another free mapping source is MultiMap.

Multimap Example:

View map of B90 8AG on Multimap.com
Get directions to or from B90 8AG

Adding a Multimap to your site:

Go to www.multimap.com

Type in the postcode for your church and press find (we've entered the Postcode for Church Edit's UK Office)

The map will then load with a circle close to your postcode match.

If you are happy with the map (you can change your map to an Aerial view) then click on the link button in the right menu.

A popup will appear with code to share the map and embed it. To embed it on your church website, accept the Terms and Conditions.

You may want to customise and preview the map. This is recommended as it will allow you to see the size the map will appear on the site and enlarge it if required.

Once you are happy with how the map appears, copy the HTML code.

You will then be able to paste it into your Church Website ('Contact Us' or 'where we meet' will be good pages to place this).

Adding the map to your Church Edit Website
If you have a Church Edit website then adding the Multimap map to you site is easy:

  • Open your page in Church Edit's web editor
  • Click on SOURCE
  • Paste the copied HTML Code into the Editor (at the end of page may be best)
  • Press SOURCE again
  • Save your page
