These updates have been applied to all Church Edit websites during July 2011. Audio

New audio player - the media page now has an embedded audio player within the page reducing the need for a separate popup page. For older web browsers that cannot play directly in the webpage then a download link will be displayed.

Sermon hits - Church Edit now tracks the number of times each audio has been played. This is stored in Global Office and will track the hits for all your audio files from the date in July that your website was upgraded.

Sermon Categories - if you want to create categories to store the sermons then this can now be done in AUDIO > AUDIO OPTIONS. Up to 30 categories can be created and this is an ideal option if you are doing a sermon series.

Every 5th week repeating events - Now you can add events that are repeated on the 5th day of each month

Delete future events - an option has been added so that if you are deleting events in a series you can now select to delete just the future repeats on the event.

Copy a page - it is now possible to copy a webpage. Just click on the copy icon (Copy a webpage)next to the page name you want to copy.

RSS Feeds - sites can now have RSS feeds allowing people to subscribe to your website and be notified when you add new web pages (for a quick tutorial on RSS see the BBC News site).  RSS for your church website can be turned on by going to SETTINGS > SITE OPTIONS. The RSS can be set to be site-wide so that every single page appears under one RSS feed, or it can be set to be turned on by individual folders. The second option is useful if you only want RSS for a regularly updated section such as news.

When turned on the RSS icon (RSS) will appear at the top right of each applicable webpage.

Upgraded editor - the web editor for creating web pages has been updated to the latest version. This includes a few fixes to the editor.

Rotas
