These are the updates added to all Church Edit websites during April 2010.
Rota Management for churches
This is a great feature to help churches manage their volunteers through the site.
The Rota Management works with the Groups feature of Church Edit so allows the ‘group managers’ to schedule the rotas for their teams.
So the worship team leader can login to the website and create the rota for the worship team.
For website administrators and group managers
• create/edit rotas
• schedule rota repeats
• printer friendly version of individual rotas/ series or rotas
• create a rota to then allow people to volunteer for different rota slots
For church members
• email notification when they are added to a rota
• page showing a personal listing of their upcoming rotas - this appears under their profile on the church website
• printer friendly version of their rota schedule
• ability to volunteer for available rota slots

Minor Updates
Calendar
Extend Event - when you have a number of repeating events it is now possible to extend the number of repeats. Just navigate to the last occurence of the event and you will see an extend event button
Private Event - it may be that you have an event that should not be shown on the main website - it is now possible to create an event which is only shown in Global Office. Just tick the 'Global Office only' option when adding an event
Members
Members of your church that do not have internet access can now be added to the site to be part of the Rota Management. Just tick the box that says 'This person does not have an email address' when adding members.
